Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are on the Morning Meeting Agenda

That’s what happens when company culture is strong

If you’re reading this, you’re probably used to us breaking down digital marketing trends and social media tips…And odds are you’re wondering what Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have to do with any of that. It’s a fair question.

At PSDM, we’re all about people, enthusiasm, and building a positive, connected culture. For us, that means a lot of things. We talk about what’s happening in the world and show genuine interest in what sparks joy in our team members and clients (hence, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce taking over our team meetings), but we take it several steps further.

What Does Solid Culture Look Like?

The foundation of a solid workplace culture looks different for every company. We may be biased, but we think we’ve cracked the code. PSDM’s roots boil down to a few key attributes: integrity, kindness, and enthusiasm.

Integrity

It’s in our brand’s DNA that as a team, we’re honest with each other, honest with our clients, prospective clients, vendors, peers, etc. Integrity from all levels of our culture enables us to have total trust in one another, transparency with our clients, and confidence in our work.

Kindness

Kindness and mutual respect might seem like an obvious workplace culture staple, but you’d be surprised by the number of experiences some of our team members have where those simple, free little things get lost. Of course, kindness is ingrained in our culture because it’s our team’s natural way of being (we hire good people), but it also motivates us to work better, and harder, when we feel respected and valued. Being kind goes a long way.

We extend this same energy into our client roster…And we’re okay with expecting it back from our clients, too. We have a PSDM policy – no mean people allowed! We know everyone has bad days, and we’re no exception to that either! But protecting our team, work, and lack of Sunday Scaries is a big deal to us. Kindness across the board helps with that.

Enthusiasm

One thing about us – we’ll always be the most enthusiastic people in the room. If building our culture from the ground up has taught us anything, it’s that when people enjoy what they do, are trusted to do it, and are valued when they do it well, enthusiasm about the work is a great end result.

But it goes deeper than just the work at PSDM. Each morning we start our day off with a virtual (work-from-home life FTW!) call with our entire team. We ease into the day talking about what’s going on in the world – like how we feel about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, what cool things are going on in our lives, laughing, catching up, and of course, we eventually get to work. Being in tune as a team starts our days off on a happy, collaborative note and sends us into our days knowing that we’re cared for as people.

Why it Matters

A solid company culture is a trickle-down effect. A team that’s truly attentive to their company culture means good employees can do good work and spread good vibes while doing it. In our experience, prioritizing workplace culture benefits leadership, team members, and clients. It pays to put people first.

So, next time you’re wondering why our team always shows up eager and willing to go the extra mile, it’s probably because we started our day talking about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.
